Dr. Nathan Mayberry, PT, DPT, CMTPT, CSCS received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. He has dedicated his career in physical therapy towards becoming a specialized manual therapist focused on high quality one on one care. It was that mission that led him to join the innovative team at PhysioFitness!
His background in Kinesiology and passion for exercise was a motivating factor in his decision to join Physiofitness. Struggling with the limitations of conventional physical therapy exercise for his patients with chronic pain and hypermobility, Nathan sought a more efficient way, which led to Dr. Jan Dommerholt’s lectures on externally focused exercise, or “exergaming”, and subsequent involvement with Physiofitness.
Nathan has taken significant post-graduate training, in dry needling and Functional Mobilization through Myopain Seminars and the Institute of Physical Art. Nathan completed his certification in dry needling/trigger point therapy in 2016, which distinguishes advanced practitioners of dry needling through a comprehensive training program in pain science, trigger point palpation, and dry needling techniques. Currently he serves as an assistant faculty with Myopain Seminars to help other health professionals with their needling skills, as well as stay up to date with the most current literature on myofascial pain.
Nathan is a former private practice owner himself, and has become quite familiar with treating patients with orthopedic impairments, chronic back/neck pain, hypermobility, fibromyalgia, TMJ disorders, headaches, and many patients that have failed “traditional therapy.” His dedication to a holistic approach, and his passion to provide integrated treatment to the various aspects of the human body is critical to his philosophy. Outside of work, Nathan enjoys playing sports, hiking, kayaking and traveling.
